Ogni momento è buono per cucire, soprattutto se si ha la fortuna di poter rimanere a casa dal lavoro in “vacanza”.
Lo scorso week end, complice il ponte del 25 Aprile, ho terminato questa commissione.
Si tratta della riproduzione di una divisa (giacca e panciotto) della marina inglese della prima metà del 1700.
Da una breve ricerca questo è l’aspetto che un fante di marina avrebbe dovuto avere nei primi anni del 18° secolo (uniforme nel mezzo).
Con variazioni varie ed eventuali a seconda della compagnia e del periodo.
Una buona base, per gli interessati, può essere questo libro.

Last week end I ended this commission.
It’s a early 1700 british navy uniform (jacket and waistcoat).
After a quick research I found that this is supposed to be the outfit of a British soldier in the early 18th century (uniform in the middle).
With a series of differences and variations depending of the company and period.
This book can be a good start if you’re interested in it.

Quindi… Giacca rossa con fodera e risvolti delle maniche blu.
Ho realizzato la giacca con del panno di lana sintetica color rosso e la fodera in cotone blu.
Le tasche sono vere e i bottoni sono in metallo.
So… red jacket with blue lining and cuffs.
The jacket was realized in synthetic woollen fabric.
The lining was made with blue cotton.
The pockets are real and I used metal buttons.
Per il panciotto sono stati utilizzati gli stessi materiali della giacca.
Ho realizzato anche un “cravattino” in cotone bianco avorio da indossare attorno al collo, secondo la moda dell’epoca.
I used the same materials of the jacket to realize the waistcoat.
I also realized a tie in white/ivory cotton to wrap around the neck.
Questa volta mi sono impegnata per ottenere delle fotografie con uno sfondo migliore, eccone qualcuna in alta risoluzione.
Dite che posso consegnarla al committente o devo tenermela? 😛
